Jay D’Aprile is an Executive Vice President with Slayton Search Partners. With over 20 years of retained executive search experience, Jay focuses his search practice on senior-level executive management positions for the life, health, and property-casualty insurance industry as well as integrated health care systems, hospitals, and academic medical centers.
Jay serves as an adviser to Chief Executive Officers, Boards, Human Resource executives, and other executives on new position development, organizational alignment, compensation, equity, and employment agreements. He specializes in partnering with his client’s senior management team to create and execute nationwide executive search strategies with the goal of attracting and recruiting senior management talent. He is considered an expert on the insurance industry’s labor market and is often called upon to share his perspectives on the industry’s talent outlook, human capital strategic planning and talent acquisition.
Jay has successfully executed critical searches such as Chief Executive Officer, President, Chief Financial Officer, Chief Information Officer, Chief Actuary, Chief Marketing Officer, Executive Vice President of Operations, Vice President of Human Resources, Vice President of Group Medical, Vice President of Claims, Vice President of Underwriting. He has also executed a variety of other C-level, Senior Vice President, and executive level assignments in the areas of underwriting, claims, accounting, business development, legal, network operations, senior administration, and research.
Prior to Slayton, he was employed by a large retained executive search firm where he marketed and strategically executed searches for a variety of clients ranging from start-up firms to Fortune 500 companies.
Jay earned a bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Kansas. He is a Member of the Board of Advisors for owl.co, a company that specializes in customer insight engines that help financial institutions make better decisions.
