The ideal candidate will have more than ten years of financial accounting and reporting experience within the Life or Annuity insurance industry. Expertise in regulatory reporting is essential, along with advanced knowledge of economic and accounting principles, financial markets, banking, reinsurance, and the analysis and reporting of financial data. A strong understanding of financial services industry products and concepts—such as financial instruments, financial management, insurance principles, and cash and capital management—is also required.

 
 

Chief Financial Officer for a Large Health Care Provider

 
The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) plays a pivotal role in shaping the organization’s financial strategy and direction. This executive position oversees all financial operations, including accounting, budgeting, revenue cycle management, banking, risk management, tax, and treasury. The Chief Distribution Officer (CDO) is responsible for developing and leading a modern, hybrid career agency system, complemented by the Brokerage General Agency (BGA) channel. This role demands strategic vision, cross-functional collaboration, data-driven decision-making, and expertise in sales compensation, producer recruiting, development, and training. The company seeks a CDO to drive growth across three vectors: organic growth, mergers, and transformation. While the company has achieved success with organic growth, a fundamental transformation of the distribution model is required. This includes rebuilding the system from the ground up to better serve the target market: rural America—towns with populations of 20,000 or fewer, often disconnected from major urban centers.
 
The ideal candidate will have at least 10 years of experience within a career agency system, with a proven track record in managing and growing agent distribution channels. BGA expertise and experience working in rural markets are highly desirable. The CDO will oversee a network of approximately 200 agents, focusing on establishing producer groups, expanding the product portfolio, and embedding high-performing agents in rural communities. Significant travel and direct engagement with community leaders and agents across key states, including OH, MI, IN, IL, WI, MN, IA, ND, SD, NE, KS, OK, and TX, are essential to success in this role.
